MiCAR aims to regulate, simplify, and make the post-trading of crypto assets more secure within the EU member states. MiCAR regulates issuers and service providers, including payments companies. MiCAR has already entered into force in parts, whereas the provisions on crypto-asset service providers will become effective as of 30 December 2024. This Spotlight call will provide an overview on the new regulation and its consequences for non-EU market participants.
